The WVU Office of the Provost announces the appointment of professor Allison Swan Dagen as director of the WVU Women’s Leadership Initiative, effective Oct. 1.
The Women’s Leadership Initiative was originally established in 2012 as the Developing Women Leaders program. From its inception, the initiative has aimed to empower women in leadership roles across WVU and provide them the resources to help them reach their full potential.
At West Virginia University (WVU), Provost Joyce McConnell is committed to the recruitment and success of diverse students and faculty. Her commitment is manifest through a variety of innovative programs focused on equity and inclusion. She has worked to enhance Title IX, including a comprehensive approach to victim services, and created Women's, LGBTQ+, and Veteran's Centers. In addition, she has created First-Generation programs, family-friendly policies, and leadership training.
