Membership

The Women's Leadership Initiative (WLI) new member application period has closed for 2024-2025. Typically, once annually, new member applications are accepted over 4-5 weeks. This year's nomination period closed on September 6, 2024.

WLI aims to empower and engage women on campus, helping them achieve their full professional potential based on their individual goals and forming a community where participants can initiate valuable new relationships.

WLI includes all categories of faculty and staff, across all ranks and roles. We welcome the opportunity to learn from each other and nurture mentoring relationships that often develop organically through participation. This year, we plan to continue to offer presentations by inspiring leaders who share their leadership journeys (both in-person and virtual) and additional skill and professional development workshops. We will continue to offer the well-received WLI Strengths-based Leadership Coaching Program for the 5th year, as well.
WLI has spent the last 12 years in the Provost’s Office, which generously supported the program using Provost Benedum Funds from its inception. In a bittersweet moment, indicating our past successes, we have the opportunity to create a pathway to grow as WLI becomes a stand-alone entity. Despite the recent changes, you can rest assured that the future of WLI is bright and promising. A Steering Committee of committed individuals lead the WLI and you can learn more about them here

In the year ahead, the Steering Committee wants to shape WLI further to meet its members' needs. We also want to ensure we understand and honor the level of engagement you desire with WLI now and in the future. We are excited to welcome you as a member and to journey together in our professional community of women.
