Constinia Charbonette has been invited to serve a two-year appointment as a member of the CGS Advisory Committee on Advocacy and Public Policy (ACAPP) for January 2020-December 2021. ACAPP plays a critical role in providing guidance on CGS’s public policy and advocacy portfolio. Responsibilities of the ACAPP may include the following:
- Providing guidance on CGS advocacy activities to promote graduate education in the federal policy arena.
- Promoting graduate education to stakeholders both internal and external to academic institutions.
- Offering insights to CGS Public Policy and Government Affairs (PPGA) staff on state policy issues impacting graduate education.
The ACAPP meets twice a year at the Summer Workshop and at the Annual Meeting. In addition, ACAPP members participate in four conference calls throughout the year. ACAPP Members are invited to participate in the CGS Advocacy Day held in conjunction with the April CGS Board of Directors meeting in Washington, DC. ACAPP members also have an instrumental role in expanding the advocacy network through the Advocacy Ambassadors. All members are appointed for one, two-year term, and may be eligible to serve an additional two-year term (for a maximum of two consecutive terms).
